This section contains information describing how to use the Oracle Net8 Assistant to control Names Servers. Click on any one of the following to learn more about:
Server Operations-Restart To restart a Names Server, click on the Restart button, then click Apply at the bottom of the tab panel. This will initiate a reset of the active Names Server to its original state at startup. Back to "Control"
Statistics Operations-Write Statistics to Log To write statistics to a log file, click on the Write Statistics to Log button, then click Apply at the bottom of the tab panel. Back to "Control"
Statistics Operations-Reset Statistics To reset the time interval during which a Names Server will accumulate statistics, click on the Reset Statistics button, then click Apply at the bottom of the tab panel. Back to "Control"
Perform Operations To specify a time interval during which Oracle Net8 Assistant will wait before performing an operation, enter a time interval in seconds in the Wait field provided. To perform operation immediately, click Immediately in the Perform Operations field. To cancel an already scheduled operation, enter a time value of zero in the Wait field provided. Click Apply at the bottom of the tab panel to execute the command selected. Back to "Control"
Apply The Apply button will execute any command selected in the active tab panel. Back to "Control"
Check Status The Check Status button will restore the tab panel to its original setting. Back to "Control"
